We have often seen that when there are two alpha dogs on one team, tensions can become high when one or the other doesn't get their share of the pie.
But one thing is for certain, at least at this early stage, Dallas Cowboys' duo CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens aren't about individual accolades - they want team success.
Granted, that is easy to say now in the offseason, but entering your third game with only three targets in back-to-back weeks? Yeah, the tone will be different.
As our own Mike Fisher stated on the Fish Report, "egos have to be swallowed," and so far, it appears that is happening.
Both Lamb and Pickens dismissed the No. 1 and No. 2 idea, instead stating that they are No. 1s, plus Lamb's "no ego" tweet, which all point to a situation where both know their role.
Perhaps most importantly, the two key figures in powering this offense forward are spending time together, with CeeDee and George at a charity event recently.
To me, that is an underrated aspect of what has transpired over the past couple of weeks.
Yes, the pair has said all the right things and hasn't pushed the other down, clamoring for the No. 1 title. Instead, it is a collective.
Now they are building chemistry together, which is the most important thing of all.
It does have a hint of Brian Schottenheimer about it. The new Dallas head coach emphasizes relationships, and the Cowboys' two biggest weapons are working in tandem before they get on the field.
That's a big thing here, and it can't be overlooked.
Egos have to be swallowed, and it appears they already have, with Lamb and Pickens both acknowledging where the other stands in the pecking order.
And it's right new to each other.
