The Dallas Cowboys made a splash by trading for wide receiver George Pickens, but the team isn’t expected to pursue any other major additions following the blockbuster deal.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will receive a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick from Dallas in the trade. The Cowboys will get a 2026 sixth-round draft pick in addition to Pickens.
Pickens fills a critical need for the Cowboys, giving them the explosive No. 2 receiver they've been searching for to complement CeeDee Lamb. He collected 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns across 48 games with the Steelers. Pickens' best season came in 2023, recording 63 catches for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns.
While questions remain at running back and a few other offensive spots, the team appears content with its current roster.
According to Jane Slater of NFL Network, the Cowboys have dismissed the possibility of making any further high-profile moves.
"For those Cowboys fans seeking more….I checked on anything additional in the works for instance 'are guys like Nick Chubb or Stephon Gilmore still in play?' The response 'they were never in play,'" Slater said on X . "Adding Breece Hall. Also 'never in play.'"
Javonte Williams is currently atop the running back depth chart for the Cowboys. Dallas also added Miles Sanders in free agency and drafted Jaydon Blue in the fifth-round of the NFL draft.
