Cowboys Rookie Caleb Downs Announces New Collaboration

The Dallas Cowboys made a handful of additions to upgrade a defense that last season ranked 32nd in points allowed per game (30.1). One of the biggest moves was selecting safety Caleb Downs with the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

He joins Dallas after spending the past two years with the Ohio State Buckeyes. In 2025, he brought home several accolades, including the Thorpe Award, the Lott IMPACT Trophy, was a Unanimous first-team All-American and was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.

With the Buckeyes, he accumulated 150 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, eight pass deflections, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.

He is aiming to put up some production going into his rookie season. However, while the Cowboys begin to ramp up their OTA offseason workouts, Downs is making moves off the field.

On Tuesday, Downs revealed a new partnership with Universal Orlando Resort. It came in a joint Instagram post with his brother Josh Downs, a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.

"We’re spending the day in Universal Epic Universe at @universalorlando and this park for SURE lives up to the name #ad," the post's caption read.

With high expectations going into his rookie season, Downs is attracting attention both on and off the field. Following this latest announcement, though, he remains focused on making an impact for Dallas and is already making strong impressions.

During rookie minicamp, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said, "He’s what we thought. The person, elite. The intelligence, elite," according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. He'll look to keep that momentum with the mandatory minicamp approaching, from June 16 to 18.
