Cowboys Rumor Includes Mexico Visit in Schedule Future

The Dallas Cowboys have their full 2025 schedule and the excitement is abundant per usual when the team has a 0-0 record. Games are still months away but the extremely early forecasts and predictions have fans buzzing about the new-look Cowboys already.

Dallas touts six primetime games and a total of eight standalone games, including their blockbuster Thanksgiving Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs and their Christmas Day bout with the Washington Commanders.

Unsurprisingly, the league capitalized on its biggest draw to feature some marquee matchups and perhaps lifted up the quality of otherwise mediocre contests on paper. But there was one aspect of the schedule the Cowboys were notably left out of.

The NFL has launched its most grand International Series campaign to date with games spread across Brazil, Ireland, Germany and the United Kingdom. Some speculation had the Cowboys facing the New York Jets in London, but that clearly never came to fruition.

However, a prime opportunity could be around the corner when the time comes for the 2026 schedule. The NFL has notably not had Mexico in its rotation for the last couple years. That could be set to change.

During an ESPN Mexico broadcast last season, insider Jeff Sutcliffe reported that there is some buzz around the the league heading back to Mexico.

"I've heard the Houston Texans want to go to (Estadio) Azteca as the home team (in 2025), the Cowboys would go in 2026."

Now the first half of that rumor did not work out, but the stars could align for a return to Mexico City for 2026.

Estadio Azteca has undergone significant renovations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to kickoff next summer and Mexico serving as a host nation.

With those complete, what better way to make a return than bringing the most popular sports franchise in the world who happens to be right next door?

It makes for a slam dunk addition to the league's International Series and the Cowboys should draw an incredible crowd. We think Jerry Jones and his crew would be more than interested in making it happen.

For now, Cowboys fans will have to settle with the schedule for 2025 and prepare for a major campaign with their reloaded squad.
