Cowboys' Sam Williams Announces Claim On Jaydon Blue Injury: 'Take Care Of My Teammates!

Injuries have been piling up for the Dallas Cowboys as the grind of Brian Schottenheimer's "physical" training camp takes hold.

But one injury got a little more traction than others when defensive end Sam Williams and Jaydon Blue came together, with the running back suffering a bone bruise on his foot/ankle, that at least, rules him out of the first preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Cowboys say that they don't believe the injury is significant, which is a positive, but we don't know when we could expect Blue back on the practice field; he won't be playing in tonight's preseason opener at the Rams.

For Williams, he wanted to clear the air on the incident, and he knows he has to do better.

"We looked over the film, it wasn't a face mask, it was shoulder pads," Williams claimed. "I just can't twist them. It was heat of the moment. I mean, good football play, but I got to take care of my teammates better."

With Blue getting twisted to the ground during the play, the running back is now in a walking boot to help push along the recovery process.

Schottenheimer has preached for his players to play on the edge, but to never cross the line, and has consistently stated that there have been too many players on the ground over the past couple of weeks.

Dallas is lucky, so too Williams, that Blue's injury isn't serious and that the running back is likely to feature at some point during the preseason after impressing in training camp.

As far as Williams, he knows he has to be better, and we think he will be moving forward.
