Cowboys set to host a top defender in the NFL Draft for a visit
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys currently hold the 24th pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. And it seems like there's multiple different positions on the table to be their selection.

One positon that has been popularly mocked to the Cowboys is DT, and they have scheduled a top-30 visit wth one of the best in this class.

Texas DT Bryon Murphy II is viewed by many as the best DT in the 2024 NFL Draft class. He is coming off his best collegiate season, where he set career highs in total tackles (29), tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (5). Murphy is a legit difference maker on the interior who is disruptive in both the passing and running game.

The Cowboys duo off the edge of their defensive line is one of the best in the entire NFL with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawerence. But the production out of their interior is lacking. So them deciding to bring Murphy II in a for visit shouln't shock anyone. He's one of the best defensive prospects in this entire draft class, and honestly I think it's fair to question if he will even make it to the Cowboys at pick 24.

Murphy II would slide in as a starter for the Cowboys on day one as a starter, and I think his addition would be huge for the interior line for the Cowboys as well as helping to take some of the pressure off Parsons and Lawerence. Because if offenses decide to slide interior linemen to double team either edge rusehr Murphy II will be ready to make them pay.
