The Dallas Cowboys missed the playoffs for a second straight season after finishing 7-9-1 and in second place in the NFC East. That includes losing four of their last five games. Despite the record, it was a solid year for 10th-year veteran Dak Prescott.
He completed 404-of-600 passes for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 99.5 passer rating. He also rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 53 attempts. He was a driving factor in Dallas finishing the regular season ranked second in total yards per game (391.9) and seventh in points per game (27.7).
This was also a big season for the four-time Pro Bowler. He was limited to just eight games in 2024 after suffering a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9.
He's already been named to the Pro Bowl, but the recognition may not be over. On Thursday, the Cowboys announced that Prescott has been named a finalist for the Comeback Player of the Year Award.
"QB1 has been named a finalist for the Comeback Player of the Year Award," the team wrote via an X post.

It's an annual award presented by the Associated Press, given to a player who "demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity by overcoming illness, physical injury, or other circumstances that led him to miss playing time the previous season, according to AP senior writer Rob Maaddi.
Prescott is one of five finalists for the award. That includes New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs, Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, and San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow won the award last year. Prescott has the opportunity to be the first Cowboys player to do so since defensive end Greg Ellis in 2007. In 2021, he was runner up for Comeback Player of the Year.
The winner will be announced on Feb. 5 during the NFL Honors ceremony.
