The Dallas Cowboys' trade for Pittsburgh Steelers receiver George Pickens has been garnering plaudits, with CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott finally getting some offensive help.
Former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who made his name as a star receiver for America's Team, is another who is on board with the move, and when it comes to talking about receiver play, Dez knows more than most.
Speaking on NFL Insiders, Dez gave his thoughts on the Pickens trade, and also gave a shout-out to the Dallas front office for being proactive this offseason.
"I love it," Bryant said on NFL Insiders. "That is unlike the Cowboys, and to see the Cowboys go out and get a playmaker like that says a lot about where they are trying to go this year. There's no more excuses, fans, including myself, we got to give Mr. Jones [Jerry], Stephen Jones, Will McClay, all them guys a break. They going out there doing what they're supposed to do to make this team better.
"They went out and got Dak one hell of a piece. George Pickens, he one of a kind, you put him with CeeDee Lamb, that's trouble."
Dez is right. The front office has been criticized for seemingly sitting on its hands this offseason, and now that they have made a mood that would qualify as "all-in," the plaudits have to be given.
Bryant knows more about receiver play than most, and when it comes to what Pickens could do for Dak and Lamb, trouble is right, and no we don't mean George's fiery personality on the field, it's his play.
Being able to help dictate coverage and not allow defenses to put all their attention on Lamb, the offense with Pickens can now open up with CeeDee, George and even Jake Ferguson seeing favorable matchups.
That, along with the front office finally showing they are at least trying to make the team better, make Dez love everything about this move.
And in truth, it's hard to find a bad thing to say about it.
