The NFL bold predictions are rolling in ahead of the official unveiling of the Dallas Cowboys 2026 schedule. But Dallas now knows who’ll join the Cowboys on Thanksgiving: The rival Philadelphia Eagles.
The league revealed that the NFC East foes will play on the November holiday. Dallas versus Philadelphia becomes the afternoon showdown inside AT&T Stadium on Nov. 26 on Fox.
This marks the third time the Cowboys and Eagles will play one another on the popular football date. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer and company will aim to erase past failures against Philly during Turkey Day.
The Eagles blew out Dallas during their first Thanksgiving meeting in 1989, winning 27-0 inside the former Texas Stadium. That loss even came during owner Jerry Jones’ first season with the team, plus when Troy Aikman was a rookie quarterback for Dallas.
Both teams wouldn’t meet again on Turkey Day until 2014, with Mark Sanchez quarterbacking Philly. Former running LeSean McCoy shredded the Cowboys, though, with 159 rushing yards in that 33-10 romp. Tony Romo led Dallas behind center that season.
Now Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb gets dibs on knocking off the back-to-back NFC East winners. But Dallas faces a make-or-break campaign with Schottenheimer entering his second season as head coach.
Last year’s team underwhelmed with a 7-9-1 mark and missed the postseason for the second straight season. Schottenheimer already dealt with some offseason tensions involving wide receiver George Pickens amid his contract situation. But Dallas managed to smooth things over with the wideout in avoiding a trade.
Dallas still faces multiple scenarios ahead of the schedule release. But now the Cowboys know when Philly heads to their turf.
