Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb proves HOFer Michael Irvin wrong

Earlier this season, former Cowboys star Michael Irvin dissed Dallas wideout CeeDee Lamb.

"CeeDee Lamb is no Amari Cooper," the Pro Football Hall of Famer said. In the offseason, Dallas dealt four-time Pro Bowler Cooper to the Browns.

Actually, Lamb is better than Cooper.

Through 11 games, Lamb has 64 receptions for 857 yards, the seventh-best yardage total in the league. He's on track to set a career high in receiving yards.

In 2021, Cooper caught 68 passes for 865 yards, a 57.7 yards-per-game average. Lamb should far eclipse those totals.

"CeeDee is more productive every week. He's delivering for us," Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said recently.

Lamb continues to deliver highlights, including a spectacular 23-yard, one-handed catch with a defender draped all over him in a 28-20 victory against the Giants on Thanksgiving.

Those spectacular plays have solidified the trust the Cowboys (8-3) have in him.

Per Pro Football Focus, Lamb is the league's second-best wideout since Week 3.

Cooper is a great player, but trading him forced Lamb to become a better player. He proved the Cowboys can count on him.
