George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys dropped their second straight game, falling to 3-5-1 on the 2025 NFL season after a 27-17 loss at home against Jacoby Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9's edition of "Monday Night Football." Despite the offense's disappointing outing, Pickens still had a solid night, tallying six catches for 79 yards.

With 5:55 remaining in the fourth quarter and Dallas trailing by 10, Dak Prescott was attempting to mount a comeback, connecting with George Pickens for a six-yard gain and a first down. In celebration, Pickens held the ball out toward Cardinals cornerback Denzel Burke directly in front of an official. The wide receiver was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, costing the Cowboys 15 yards. A few plays later, running back Javonte Williams lost a fumble.

Following his unsportsmanlike conduct toward Burke in Cowboys vs. Cardinals, Pickens may have a fine coming his way. In the NFL, players can be fined up to $14,491 for a first unsportsmanlike conduct offense, with the amount increasing to $20,288 for a second violation in the same season. Players are fined up to $11,593 for taunting as well, increasing to $17,389 with a second.

So far in the 2025 NFL season, 16 fines have been issued for taunting, including three to Cowboys players. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was fined $11,593 in the Week 2 win over the New York Giants. In Week 7’s victory over the Washington Commanders, offensive lineman Brock Hoffman was fined $6,111, while Pickens received his first taunting fine, paying the full $11,593.

Pickens has already been fined three times this season, including his first taunting violation. In Week 2, the former Georgia star was penalized $14,491 for removing his helmet and another $14,491 for making a violent gesture, bringing his season total to $40,575.

Following a bye in Week 10, Pickens and the Cowboys will be back in action in Week 11, facing the Las Vegas Raiders.
