Creed Humphrey throws some deserved shade at Texans DL Tim Settle following Chiefs win over Houston

It never works out well when opposing teams give the Kansas City Chiefs bulletin board material.

Thanks to defensive lineman Tim Settle Jr., the Houston Texans have become the latest team to learn that lesson. In the days leading up to the Chiefs-Texans Week 16 matchup, Settle decided to antagonize quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offensive line.

"This [offensive line] definitely has it's loopholes," Settle said about the Chiefs. "It's definitely had it's struggles. I feel like we can take advantage of that. We've got an elite [defensive] line. Pat's [Patrick Mahomes] a little banged up. I don't know if he's going to play or not, but I hope he's mobile enough because we're coming in Arrowhead. Pat better make good decisions. I ain't making no threats, I'm making promises."

Like the many before him, Settle talked his trash, then was humbled. The Texans sacked Mahomes just once on the day as he thew for 260 yards and one touchdown, also adding a 15-yard rushing touchdown. Settle was not the one who got the sack on Mahomes, and he was limited to just one tackle on the day.

The Chiefs went on to win the game 27-19, worsening the blow for Settle even more. After the game, Chiefs Pro Bowl center Creed Humphrey took to Instagram to throw a little shade towards Settle, posting a picture of himself with the caption, "Broken promises."

Mahomes and his offensive linemen are very tight, and they take a lot of pride in blocking for him. It was a very impressive effort by Kansas City's front five as the Texans rank third in the NFL in sacks with 46. The Chiefs put up arguably their best offensive performance of the season against Houston.

It's possible we get a rematch between the two teams as they have each clinched playoff berths by winning their respective divisions. The Chiefs can earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
