Dak Prescott-CeeDee Lamb connection could spur a deep playoff run

The chemistry between quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is one reason the Dallas Cowboys could overcome their playoff woes and make a deep run.

"I think he's the best receiver in the game," Prescott said of Lamb following Sunday's victory over the Washington Commanders. "He makes my job a lot easier. This is really just the beginning. He's a young player, a special player, and we're only going to get better."

In the 38-10 blowout, Prescott targeted Lamb 13 times. The star WR caught every pass for 98 yards and two TDs.

"You talk about quarterback-receiver relationships, and I've been blessed to be around some great quarterback-receiver duos and trios," Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said in a postgame news conference. "We have that here. You just want to keep building on that."

This season, they generated impressive numbers. Prescott finished with the league's most passing TDs (36 in 17 games, the second-highest figure of his career). Per the team website, Lamb became the first Cowboys wideout to lead the league in receptions with 135, a career high.

Dallas (12-5) needs the stars to maintain their strong connection, which could be a challenge in the wild-card round against the Packers (9-8). Green Bay is ninth in the league in passing yards allowed (206.8).

Still, Lamb remains confident and is determined to help the franchise win its first Super Bowl in 28 years.

"We're always confident in our team and our ability," Lamb said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. "We know what we put out there. Everybody in the NFL knows what kind of team we are. We just got to go out there and show it."
