Dak Prescott confirms suspicion ahead of 2025 Dallas Cowboys training camp with an important update

It's been trending that direction for a good while now but Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott just made it official. After suffering a nasty hamstring injury that ended his 2024 season, he's good to go for training camp.

"I'm as healthy as can be," Prescott told reporters via Joe Hoyt from Dallas Morning News. "I'll be full go for training camp, I'm healthy."

Though the news was expected given Dak's full participation in OTAs and minicamp, it's still a significant update given the physical nature of training camp.

The Cowboys are set to report to Oxnard, California in late July, with the first scheduled practice being set for July 22. Pads will come on July 27 and by that point, it will be live contact season.

Though red jerseys protect quarterbacks from being hit by fellow teammates, risking a rehabbing quarterback is a no-no unless he's ready. Prescott clearly is.

According to the Cowboys quarterback—who held a media availability session at his annual free ProCamps football camp—he still needs an official sign-off from team doctors but it's a matter of when and not if.

The Cowboys need Dak Prescott's best in 2025

It's no secret the Cowboys roster is far from a perfect one. Questions exist in all levels of the defense. On offense, questions exist about the offensive line, particularly the tackle spot.

With a reinforced WR room led by CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, the team needs Prescott to return to his 2023 form if they're to make it far into the season and later, the playoffs.

That will start by staying healthy. Fortunately, Prescott's work ethic has been tested time and time again and there's little question he was diligent in his rehab process. Now it's all about returning to from and rhythm in time for the season. Being ready for Day 1 of Oxnard will go a long way.
