Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys fell to 2-3-1 on the 2025 NFL season by falling to Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers 30-27 in Week 6. Now, the Cowboys will look to get back to .500 when they return home to host Jayden Daniels and NFC East rival Washington Commanders.
Over the past three games, Prescott has been without his top target, CeeDee Lamb, who’s recovering from an high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. Speedster KaVontae Turpin also has missed time with a foot injury. In their absence, George Pickens, acquired in an offseason trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has stepped up, recording 32 catches for 525 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
Earlier in the week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones noted that Prescott can expect to get some help back, as Lamb, Turpin and rookie guard Tyler Booker were all expected to return to practice.
“Without being doctor here and without the benefit of a week of practice, we are thumbs up on all,” Jones commented. “It’s looking good but that’s just it, you gotta have a week of practice.”
Sure enough, Lamb and Turpin were back at practice on Wednesday, giving Prescott his top receivers again.
"This feels like the healthiest the #Cowboys have been since Week 1, especially if they’re able to get the trio of Lamb, Turpin and Booker back Sunday against Washington," wrote Cowboys staff writer Tommy Yarrish on X.

Lamb has been Prescott's favorite target since he joined the team in 2020. Through three games this season, Lamb has recorded 16 catches for 222 yards. But he has brought in over 100 catches for over 1,000 yards in each of the previous three years.
Prescott and the Cowboys will host the Commanders on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.
