Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered their second straight loss on Sunday while Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos cruised to their 11th consecutive victory. The fates of these two teams have been vastly different this season, and the trend continued in Week 15.

With their loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention, marking the second straight year Dallas will miss the postseason. The Broncos, on the other hand, clinched a playoff spot with their 34-26 win over the Green Bay Packers, which was thanks in large part to another strong performance from Nix.

The second-year quarterback kept his foot on the gas on Sunday, finishing with 23-of-34 completed passes for 302 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also added seven carries for 10 rushing yards.

Nix has been on a tear in 2025, and his outstanding play has been integral to the Broncos’ success this term. In 14 games played thus far, the former Oregon Ducks star has registered 320-of-504 completed passes for 3,256 yards, 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Nix marked his 22nd career victory on Sunday. The 25-year-old made history with the win, prompting an announcement from the NFL.

“Bo Nix ties Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck and Dak Prescott for 2nd most QB wins in his first 2 seasons (22) ” NFL+, the league’s official streaming service, posted on X.

Nix went 10-7 with the Broncos as a rookie last term. He’s done much better in his second season, racking up 12 wins already with still three games left to play.

Prescott achieved this same feat eight years ago. He led Dallas to a 13-3 record in his rookie campaign, followed by nine wins in his second year. At this point, however, Nix will likely surpass Prescott, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck for second-most wins for a QB in their first two seasons.

In fact, Nix has a chance to break the all-time record currently held by Russell Wilson. The New York Giants QB won 24 games in his first two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, and Nix can surpass Wilson’s mark if Denver wins all three of its remaining games.

Up next for the Broncos is a matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, while Prescott and the Cowboys battle the Los Angeles Chargers on the same day.
