Dak Prescott suffered a devastating ankle injury on Sunday that will sideline him for the rest of the season, and his neighbors aspired to lift his spirits by posting a sign outside his home to encourage the Dallas Cowboys quarterback ahead of his long road to recovery.
Prescott, who resides in Prosper, Texas, clearly has the support of the town’s fellow residents. Their sign relayed the message, “Get Well Soon, Your Neighbors.” The football-themed signs also included Cowboys logos and iconography.

Prescott suffered a compound right ankle fracture and dislocation during the Cowboys’ Week 5 game when he was tackled awkwardly by New York Giants free safety Logan Ryan during a scramble. It was a horrific injury, and Prescott was left in tears while being carted off the field.

Prescott has already undergone a procedure to “wash out the wound and fix the fracture,” according to a statement from the Cowboys.
“Dak Prescott’s surgery was successfully completed last night and he is expected to be released from the hospital today,” the Cowboys told CNN in a statement on Monday.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones provided additional encouraging news Tuesday about the prognosis concerning Prescott’s impending recovery.

It remains to be seen whether Prescott’s rehabilitation will go as well as projected, but an early prognosis is the best one could ask for at this point.
Another issue confronting both the quarterback and the Cowboys is how he was playing under the franchise tag this season after the parties failed to come to terms on a long-term contract.
Contractual matters will presumably loom in the background as Prescott proceeds through a grueling rehab process following such a serious injury. For now, at least Prescott can take solace in the knowledge that countless people are rallying around him, including his neighbors.
