Dak’s ’Not Superman!’ Micah on Cowboys Prescott & Mike McCarthy
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Micah Parsons is offering up some subtle criticism of the Dallas Cowboys front office, absolving himself from any lack-of-effort criticism for the playoff loss, and offering his support of team leaders Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott, all via his latest podcast,  The Edge.

Parsons, the All-Pro defensive star, in three bites, is looking back at the shocking loss in the playoffs to Green Bay, and looking forward to where Dallas needs to be. ...

And the Fish Podcast and the Fish Report is looking, too ...

MICAH ON THE PLAYOFF LOSS: Parsons offers up two takes that seem a bit in conflict.

On the one hand, he professes to be so "sad'' and "embarrassed'' that he "disappeared'' and "couldn't show my face in public.''

“It’s sad, man, that you lose the way you do, especially at home,” Parsons said. “To go out like that at home was completely embarrassing and unacceptable.''

But obviously meant as a specific response to ex-Cowboys receiver Jesse Holley's "selfish'' charge, Micah added, “I’m at full peace. I don’t think I could have done anything more to try to win that game, and that comes from watching film with the other guys in the room.

“I challenge anyone to actually go look at the game film and say that Micah didn’t play his heart out in that game or what more could I have done?”

It is possible to be both "sad and embarrassed'' and "at peace''? Micah just found a way.

MICAH ON DAK AND MCCARTHY: To his credit - especially as his own brother has offered up some unfortunate social-media takes on Dallas' QB and coach - Parsons stood up for the embattled Cowboys tandem of quarterback Dak Prescott and coach Mike McCarthy.

“We gave up over 40 points. What do you expect Dak Prescott to be? Do you expect him to be Superman? He cannot win games by himself,” Parsons said. “I do not put that on Dak Prescott.”

Parsons continued: "I’ve always said football is not a game of one man. It’s a game of 22 men that go on the field and you need to rely on every 22 guys to win that game. ... So, I do not put down Dak Prescott. He is an All-Pro.''

And on McCarthy? While Parsons said "we were just outperformed, out-schemed'' by Green Bay, he also firmly backed his coach, who enters 2024 as a lame duck on the final year of his contract.

“I believe in Mike McCarthy. We won a lot of games with Mike,” Parsons said. “Hopefully, he can take us all the way and we drive this culture and we change the narrative that people have.”

ON 'ALL-IN': "Micah reflected on owner Jerry Jones' pledge that the front office will be "all in'' in 2024.

"Sitting here and they're talking about, 'We're going all-in this year.' Man, that's what I would hope for," Parsons said. "I hope that we go all-in. I hope that we go out and get the players that we're missing because we didn't do that this year.''
