The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been to a Super Bowl since Troy Aikman was under center. Aikman is now one of the top commentators in the game, headlining Monday Night Football on ESPN. While he is still loyal to the franchise, he isn’t afraid to share his thoughts on the team. He and his commentating partner, Joe Buck, made a recent appearance on Good Morning America to talk about the upcoming NFL season. During the segment, Aikman gave a bold prediction on the team’s upcoming season.

Troy Aikman On the Dallas Cowboys’ 2025 Season

Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts wrapped up the segment by asking the two commentators who they had winning the Super Bowl this year. Buck said that this is the year the Buffalo Bills finally win one, which isn’t all that outlandish. Josh Allen is the reigning MVP, and the team has bolstered the roster through the draft and free agency. Troy Aikman made a much more outlandish prediction. Without hesitation, he predicted the Dallas Cowboys would win it all in 2025.

It isn’t clear whether he was serious or playing it up for television. New York Giants legend Michael Strahan is one of the anchors on the show, and he could have been taking a jab at him. However, he could also believe that the team has a shot. Last year was ruined by injuries and some questionable coaching decisions. Is there any way the Dallas Cowboys can win it all this year?

2025 Outlook

Let’s start with the roster. The recent trade for George Pickens makes this offense much deadlier. Last year, teams bracketed CeeDee Lamb and dared the Cowboys to throw elsewhere. Now, teams will have to think twice about leaving Pickens one-on-one. While the defense struggled last year, the talent is still there. Micah Parsons is a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and the secondary still has Tre’von Diggs and DaRon Bland. The issue isn’t the roster.

There are two main hurdles for the Dallas Cowboys. The first is the new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer. While he has plenty of NFL experience, this is his first head coaching position. There are plenty of question marks on what he will be able to do. The second is the division they play in. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders have Super Bowl aspirations and, frankly, better rosters. Winning the division will be tough, and getting to a Super Bowl as a Wild Card team isn’t easy.

Final Thoughts

The Dallas Cowboys are always interesting to watch. This offense may be one of the most electric in the league, and the defense has the talent to get back to its dominant ways. On the flip side, everything could go horribly wrong, which, frankly, is also fun to watch (unless you’re a Cowboys fan).
