Dallas Cowboys Make Team Announcement on Friday

  • The Dallas Cowboys face the Denver Broncos after scoring 44 points in last week's win over the Washington Commanders.
  • Dallas' defense allows the most receiving yards, but boasts an unprecedented four-game streak in the franchise.
  • Dak Prescott leads an efficient offense; the Broncos and Bo Nix present a significant road challenge in Week 8.

The Dallas Cowboys will be looking to make it two straight wins on Sunday when they battle the Denver Broncos in a road matchup for Week 8. The Cowboys are coming off a big win over the Washington Commanders in Week 7, putting up 44 points on the board, while also holding down Jayden Daniels and the Washington offense to just 22 points.

Dallas will put its 3-3-1 record on the line against a red-hot Broncos side that has won four in a row. The Cowboys’ defense will be tested against Bo Nix, who already has 11 touchdowns this season in seven games played.

Dallas star quarterback Dak Prescott is in the midst of another big year. In his first seven games of the NFL season, the three-time Pro Bowler has already registered 185-of-259 completed passes (71.4%) for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns.

While the Cowboys’ Prescott-led offense has been impressive, the same cannot be said about their defense. Dallas is 30th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (141.3) and is dead last in total receiving yards allowed (260.3).

The silver lining, however, is that the Cowboys' secondary has shown some signs of life of late. As a matter of fact, they are in the midst of a four-game streak that has never been completed in franchise history.

The team took to social media on Friday to flex the feat.

“The @dallascowboys head into Denver this weekend with four straight games with at least one takeaway and zero giveaways, the longest such streak in franchise history,” Dallas Cowboys Public Relations posted on X.

This stat means that Dallas’ defense has forced at least one turnover in the last four games, either via an interception or a fumble recovery. At the same time, this new record is also due to their offensive efficiency, with Prescott and Co. not committing a single turnover in their last four contests.

The Cowboys will need to be at their best on both ends of the ball come Sunday if they want to keep this historic streak going. The Broncos will be a tough test for Dallas, especially with Nix facilitating the offense.

It’s going to be a road game for the Cowboys, too, with Denver hosting the Week 8 showdown at Empower Field at Mile High. Kickoff is scheduled at 4:25 p.m. ET.
