Dallas Cowboys, Micah Parsons Facing Potential Drama Together

Is Micah Parsons wearing out his welcome for the Dallas Cowboys?

Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan says he is hearing that the Cowboys are beginning to grow tired of the superstar edge rusher.

“I’ve heard from way too many people this offseason. I’m talking about at least four different people (have told me) that Micah has worn thin there,” Shariff said Friday. “I don’t know how much is true and how much it actually hurts (his reputation). I don’t know whether this is the behavior of a typical superstar. I don’t how damaging it is. But all I do know is this – I’ve heard from way too many people that if Micah Parsons was out of there, there would be a decent amount of people inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco smiling or breathing a sigh of relief.”

This is certainly significant news, if true.

Parsons became eligible for a contract extension this offseason and has two years remaining on his deal after Dallas exercised his fifth-year option.

The 24-year-old is one of the best defensive players in football, but if he is evidently causing problems in the locker room, the Cowboys will have to weigh whether or not his on-field contributions are worth the issues he may be causing off of it.

Parsons has taken some heat this offseason.

Former Dallas wide receiver Jesse Holley called Parsons the most selfish player on the team, and the three-time Pro Bowler was also criticized for leaving the locker room early following the Cowboys’ embarrassing Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers. He then did not make himself available to the media while cleaning out his locker the following day.

Parsons played in every game this past season, racking up 64 tackles, 14 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The Penn State product was selected by Dallas with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

We’ll see how Micah Parsons’ apparent attitude issues affect contract negotiations moving forward.
