This is our first look at who has the upper hand in not only making the team, but earning a spot in the starting lineup.
Quarterback
Dak Prescott
Joe Milton
Will Grier
Milton officially earns QB2 duties after an impressive offseason. He and Grier will split action in preseason as Prescott prepares for Week 1 after last year's hamstring surgery.
Running Back
Javonte Williams
Miles Sanders
Jaydon Blue
Deuce Vaughn
Phil Mafah
One of the most intriguing competitions at camp, the free agent acquisitions own the top two spots. Each of the top three are expected to contribute throughout the season.
Wide Receiver
CeeDee Lamb
George Pickens
Jalen Tolbert OR KaVontae Turpin
Johnathan Mingo
Ryan Flournoy
Traeshon Holden, Jalen Brooks, Jalen Cropper, Josh Kelly
Similarly, the WR3 job is up for grabs ... and it appears Tolbert and Turpin are still fighting for the final starting lineup job. It's the only spot on the offense with an "or" distinction.
Tight End
Jake Ferguson
Luke Schoonmaker
Brevyn Spann Ford
John Stephens, Princeton Fant
The former second-rounder "Schoon" holds off an up-and-coming Spann Ford in a tight TE2 battle.
Offensive Line
LT: Tyler Guyton, Nate Thomas, Asim Richards, Geron Christian
LG: Tyler Smith, T.J. Bass
C: Cooper Beebe, Brock Hoffman, Dakota Shepley
RG: Tyler Booker, Saahdiq Charles, La'el Collins
RT: Terence Steele, Hakeem Adiniji, Ajani Cornelius
The rookie Booker assumes the spot left open by Zack Martin. Familiar face Collins slides in with the third-stringers for now, but injuries will shuffle this up a bit. Hopefully Guyton gets healthy for a Week 1 showing with this predictable starting lineup.
Defensive End
Marshawn Kneeland, Tyrus Wheat, Payton Turner, James Houston
Micah Parsons, Dante Fowler, Sam Williams, Donovan Ezeiruaku
The speed group led by Parsons is extremely deep and versatile. Former second-rounder Kneeland is poised to lead run-stopping efforts off the edge as a fringe starter.
Defensive Tackle
3-tech: Osa Odighizuwa, Solomon Thomas, Earnest Brown, Tommy Akingbesote
1-tech: Mazi Smith, Jay Toia, Perrion Winfrey, Denzel Daxon
One-technique will be a must-watch competition between a first and seventh-rounder - Dallas needs a run-stopping force to help out Odighizuwa.
Linebacker
Kenneth Murray
Jack Sanborn
Marist Liufau OR Damone Clark
Justin Barron, Shemar James, Buddy Johnson, Darius Harris,
PUP: DeMarvion Overshown
An interesting opening in the third starting spot is coming down to two youngsters with great upside. "Agent Zero" is expected to return from knee surgery near midseason at best.
Cornerback
CB: Kaiir Elam, Andrew Booth, Troy Pride, Robert Rochell, Christian Matthew
CB: DaRon Bland, Caelen Carson, Bruce Harmon, Zion Childress, C.J. Goodwin (ST)
NCB: Kemon Hall, Israel Mukuamu
PUP: Trevon Diggs, Shavon Revel, Josh Butler
Amid impactful injuries, Hall emerges as a first-teamer in the slot, a major talking point as we approach the season.
Safety
Malik Hooker
Donovan Wilson
Juanyeh Thomas
Markquese Bell
Alijah Clark, Mike Smith
This lineup stays the same as last season.
Specialists
K: Brandon Aubrey
P: Bryan Anger
LS: Trent Sieg
KR: KaVontae Turpin, Juanyeh Thomas, Jalen Cropper, Jaydon Blue
PR: KaVontae Turpin, Deuce Vaughn, Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Cropper
A starting lineup with multiple Pro Bowlers stays intact.
