The 2025 NFL draft is now in the past, but there are still players who went undrafted still looking for contracts. The Dallas Cowboys signed one of them in former Oregon Ducks star wideout Traeshon Holden, who will have to prove to the NFC East franchise this offseason that he deserves a regular spot on the roster as one of quarterback Dak Prescott’s downfield weapons.

Holden isn’t lacking motivation, especially after he did not hear his name get called during the NFL draft, an experience that left him feeling disrespected.

“I’ve always been the kind to just work hard in general, but it’s just . . . I feel disrespected. So now it’s time to make it happen,” Holden said, via Joseph Hoyt of All City DLLS (h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk).

Can undrafted rookie make a difference for the Dallas Cowboys?

The Cowboys, despite a need to address depth in the wide receiver position behind CeeDee Lamb, did not get a wideout in the draft, only using two picks to acquire position players on offense, and both on running backs in Jaydon Blue of the Texas Longhorns and Phil Mafah of the Clemson Tigers.

It remains to be seen whether Holden will be able to stick with Dallas for long, but at least he’s got the opportunity to show that Dallas made a good decision to get him after the draft.

“I feel like I was one of the best receivers,” Holden said, “and now I can just show everybody I am,” Holden shared.

In the 2024 college football season, Holden amassed 718 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 45 receptions through 13 games with Dan Lanning’s Ducks.
