Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott suffers devastating injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott entered Sunday’s game against the New York Giants in the midst of a record season. Even though his team was 1-3 entering Sunday, Prescott has looked every bit the part of an MVP candidate.

His season could now very well be over.

Prescott could be seen on the ground calling for medical attention after a scramble in the third quarter. We’re not going to show the video here. Instead, click on this link.

Those of you who clicked on the link know full well how serious this injury is. It’s devastating. As Prescott was being carted off the field with an apparent leg/ankle injury, emotions were obviously running high in Big D. That included those from current Giants offensive coordinator and former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.

Anyone who saw the injury live knows exactly what type of rehab process Prescott is facing. In a bit of a bad twist, it came on the very same day that Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith returned from a near two-year absence after suffering a serious injury of his own.

Prescott, 27, is currently playing under the franchise tag after a major contract stalemate with the Cowboys. He’s slated to hit free agency in March. While focusing on the financials doesn’t make a whole lot of sense right now, it adds to the devastating nature of Prescott’s injury.

As for the Cowboys, they do have a veteran backup in former Pro Bowler Andy Dalton. That’s some good news for Dallas on a day that turned dark really quickly.

We’ll obviously have further updates as it relates to Prescott’s injury as news comes out. For now, our thoughts are obviously with the young man.
