Dallas Cowboys sign veteran long snapper Trent Sieg to new contract
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are holding on to veteran long snapper Trent Sieg for another season, inking him to a new one-year deal, according to Michael Gehlken. His last deal was for one year, $1.23 million.

Dallas signed Sieg last offseason to stabilize the special teams unit while employing a rookie placekicker. It worked out very well with the veteran playing all 18 games. The rookie kicker, Brandon Aubrey, went 37-for-39 on field goals and 50-for-53 on extra point attempts this season, including the playoff game against Green Bay.

Sieg originally signed with Baltimore as an undrafted rookie in 2018 out of Colorado State. The team released him after training camp, however, and he signed a new deal with the Raiders. He served as the Raiders’ primary long snapper for the next five seasons. He has played in 97 games over his six-year career.
