The Dallas Cowboys suffered many major injuries last season, which led to a subpar season. The pass rush was especially hit hard. Micah Parsons missed significant time with an injury, but early in the season, DeMarvion Overshown tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL, ending his season. He underwent surgery in December of last year, and many fans have wondered when he will return. Overshown may have hinted at a potential return date on social media.
The NFL schedule is being fully released today, but many outlets are leaking certain games. One of the biggest NFL days of the year is Thanksgiving Day, and the Dallas Cowboys always play host. This year, reports indicate the Kansas City Chiefs will be coming to AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving. DeMarvion Overshown posted the announcement on his Instagram story, saying, “Oh yeah I’m active in this.”
Thanksgiving is Week 11 of the NFL season, and the pass rusher really wants to be back for this matchup. Reports have indicated he is targeting a November return, so this would be in line with that timeline. Before his injury, he was putting together a great season. In 13 games, he had 90 tackles, 5.0 sacks, four passes deflected, one forced fumble, and one interception. Getting him back on the field is one of the priorities for the team.
The Dallas Cowboys have an uphill climb in 2025. The NFC East is loaded with quality teams, and the conference as a whole has many Super Bowl contenders. This, paired with a first-year head coach, leaves many fans and analysts with doubts about the upcoming season for Dallas. However, the Cowboys have no shortage of talent on the roster.
They acquired George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers, giving them one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. While Dak Prescott isn’t the best quarterback in the NFL, he has shown he can be an above-average starter in the league. On defense, Parsons, along with Tre’von Diggs and DaRon Bland, make up a solid unit. They just have to put it all together on the field.
The hope is that Overshown can return this season. However, the Dallas Cowboys don’t want to rush him back only for him to reinjure his knee again. Will he be back by Thanksgiving against the Chiefs?
