The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024-2025 season ended in disappointment, and as the team reflected on what went wrong, star linebacker Micah Parsons made a surprising statement about a potential move that never happened.

During an appearance on the SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio show, Parsons addressed speculation about whether Derrick Henry, one of the NFL’s most dominant running backs, could have made a difference in Dallas this season.

Instead of embracing the idea, Parsons pushed back on the notion that Henry would have solved the Cowboys’ struggles.

"I'm afraid Derrick Henry wouldn't even have helped us," Parsons said. "We were that Derrick Henry should be blessed because he played with Lamar and he almost runs for 2,000 yards. The hypothetical can sound pretty good, but we struggled so much that I don't even know if Derrick could've helped us. It would've been another Tennessee Titan year for him."

Parsons’ comments reflect the broader issues Dallas faced, particularly on offense. Despite having playmakers like CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard, the Cowboys struggled with consistency in key moments, especially down the stretch in the final games this season.

While adding a power back like Henry may have seemed like an easy fix, Parsons made it clear that their problems ran deeper than just the running game.

The team also dealt with injuries to their franchise quarterback Dak Prescott for an extended period of time this year which also was a reason their team's season was derailed from expectations.

Henry, who thrived in Baltimore’s system alongside Lamar Jackson, was rumored as a potential trade target for several teams last season.

However, Parsons’ remarks suggest that even if Dallas had acquired the former rushing champion, their offensive struggles would have continued.

As the Cowboys enter another pivotal offseason, Parsons' blunt assessment underscores the need for significant improvements if Dallas hopes to finally break through and make a deep playoff run.
