Eight-year veteran tight end Dallas Goedert signed a new contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Goedert, a one-time Super Bowl champion and former second-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas Goedert, Eagles, Agree to Contract

Goedert hits the open market on the heels of arguably the best season of his career. Starting and appearing in all 15 games, the dual-threat tight end finished the season with 60 receptions for 591 yards, 11 touchdowns, and a 66.7 PFF grade, the 28th-best mark out of 75 eligible players. Despite his strong play, the Philadelphia Eagles went one-and-done to Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas Goedert originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Selected by the Eagles, Goedert spent the early years of his career paired with a fellow pass-catching threat in tight end Zach Ertz. Together, the two formed arguably the league’s best tight end duo. After a relatively quiet rookie season, Goedert made his mark in 2019. Despite inconsistent quarterback play, the South Dakota State product finished the season with 58 receptions for 607 yards and five touchdowns on 87 targets.

Goedert’s best season likely came in 2021. After the Eagles traded Ertz midway through the season, the former second-round pick finally had the chance to thrive as the unquestioned top tight end in the offense. Goedert made the most of this opportunity and finished the season with 56 receptions for 830 yards, four touchdowns, and a 90.7 PFF grade, the second-best mark in the league. Despite entering the season with low expectations, the Eagles made it to the playoffs during the first year of the Jalen Hurts Era. However, they went one-and-done following a Wild Card loss to Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since signing his rookie contract, Dallas Goedert has appeared in 108 games while making 91 starts. During his time on the field, the South Dakota State product has recorded 409 receptions for 4,676 yards and 35 touchdowns.
