The Minnesota Vikings did the one thing that fans know them best for: choking in a big game.
In a winner-take-all game on Sunday night, the Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions by a score of 31-9. It was a much closer game than the final score would indicate, but the Lions pulled away in the end due to the time of possession battle going the Lions' way from 36:12 to 23:48.
It was a tough loss for the Vikings, who will face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night and could return to Ford Field.
The NBC broadcast went right to the coaches at the end of the game where they shake hands and exchange pleasantries. Usually, there isn't anything that comes out of those handshakes, but there was on Sunday night.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell told Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell "I'll see you in two weeks."

With all due respect to Rams pic.twitter.com/sectSbWn6r
That comment says two things:
Some will try to make that a shot at the Rams, but that was just one coach showing a lot of respect for the other one. Nothing else to see there other than a lot of respect.
If the Vikings do win against the Rams and the rest of the wild card round is chalk, the Vikings would end up going back to Detroit on a short week with the Lions getting two full weeks of rest. Could that be an advantage? Well, it certainly was in the College Football Playoff.
Needless to say, the Vikings need to win four games to get a Super Bowl.
