The New York Giants were held to just nine points against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, falling to 0-3 on the season.

It’s been a disappointing start to the season for the New York Giants , who are now 0-3 to start the year. While their Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys was a thriller, they failed to secure the win in that game and were stifled by the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense in Week 3.

Giants’ gameplan questioned by Dan Orlovsky, after Malik Nabers failed to impact the game on Sunday night

Malik Nabers is the brightest spark the New York Giants have. He led the NFL in receiving yards after the first two weeks of games and had an inspired performance in the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys that the Giants really should have won.

Russell Wilson and Nabers connected in that game for a total of nine catches, 167 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead deep ball with less than 30 seconds to play.

Fans believe that the Giants’ star could be a contender for the Offensive Player of the Year, but that won’t happen if the franchise allows him to be so easily schemed out of a game.

The Kansas City Chiefs eliminated Nabers from the game plan entirely, and Dan Orlovsky was bewildered by how easy the Giants made it for the Chiefs to do so.

The analyst posted on X to say:

“The Giants are turning Nabers into an old school Baylor WR. Just run fast and straight every play. What are we doing?!?!?!!?”

Nabers had just two catches for 13 yards in the game, and was unable to have any kind of impact on the scoreboard.

Giants’ fans responded to Orlovsky with comments suggesting they weren’t the slightest bit surprised by the vanilla playcalling. One fan said:

“The Giants offense has been terrible for 3 years (scheme-wise). Nothing surprises us fans…there was a very large contingent saying all along it wasn’t DJs fault…I think we are being proven right.”

“The pass attacks is either 5-yard quick passes or go routes. Few levels, very little motion, nothing to challenge the eyes of the D. Watch last night back and see how many times the entire Chiefs D (including safeties) were firing immediately at the snap on a run play b/c they knew it was coming.”

The sentiment that Daniel Jones was never the problem is starting to grow louder as the weeks go by, with the New York Giants 0-3 while the Indianapolis Colts are 3-0.

Jones is playing the best football of his career in a new system, while the Giants are being completely shut down by anybody that isn’t the Dallas Cowboys defense.

Cam Skattebo was the one bright spark for the Giants in an otherwise miserable Sunday night performance

New York Giants’ rookie running back Cam Skattebo was the lone bright spark for the Giants last night. He was called upon more than he had been so far this season due to an injury to Tyrone Tracy, and he answered the bell.

Skattebo was both the leading rusher and receiver for the Giants, totaling 60 rushing yards and a touchdown on ten carries, plus 61 receiving yards on six receptions out of the backfield.

The rookie dove for the end zone from four yards out to score his second rushing touchdown of the season, after putting up 45 yards and a score in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.
