Dan Quinn has again decided to come back to the Cowboys

Dan Quinn must really love what he has going on with the Dallas Cowboys. The defensive coordinator has interviewed for head-coaching positions for two offseasons in a row now.

He's now decided to come back to Dallas for... two offseasons in a row. This, according to a report from ESPN, which is saying that Quinn believes he has unfinished business with the Cowboys.

"Unfinished business here in Dallas. My complete focus is helping the team play championship ball in 2023," Quinn told ESPN's Ed Werder.

Head coach Mike McCarthy also confirmed Quinn's decision, saying, "We're all extremely excited to have Dan back. Had a chance to visit with him a short while ago. This is big for us. Gives us continuity, definitely what we've accomplished the last two years, building off of that. Frankly, on a personal note, I can't tell you how thankful I am."

Quinn has without a doubt been one of the main reasons Dallas has been a playoff team over the past two seasons. Sure, his defense has plenty of talent — Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Trevon Diggs all come to mind — but Quinn has been the one pulling the strings.

Dallas led the league in takeaways for the second straight season with 33. That was just one less than the 34 the Cowboys snagged in 2021.

Quinn interviewed to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, and Indianapolis Colts. Conventional wisdom in NFL circles is that he's the most qualified head-coaching candidate not named Sean Payton
