Dan Quinn's free agency siege of Cowboys roster continues and it's likely not done yet
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Dan Quinn's siege of the Dallas Cowboys roster is growing by the minute.

The former Cowboys defensive coordinator just added another name to the list on the second day of the 2024 NFL free agency frenzy as reports emerged on edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. being headed to the Washington Commanders.

Per Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, Fowler is planning to sign with the Commanders after hitting free agency this week.

The news should not be a surprise. Quinn arrived at Washington to coach a very thin Commanders defense that last year traded away superstar edge defenders Chase Young and Montez Sweat. Starting anew, Quinn is bringing Fowler Jr. along with Dorance Armstrong, who were significant depth pieces for the Cowboys during Quinn's three-year tenure in Dallas.

Quinn also signed center Tyler Biadasz to his new team and might not be done just yet. On Monday, ESPN's John Kleim reported the Commanders had shown interest in targeting nickel cornerback Jourdan Lewis.

Jayron Kearse is also a Cowboys free agent who could intrigue Quinn. After all, he was the coach that figured out a way to use the veteran safety when he turned him into a hybrid LB/S type, which earned him a starting role in Dallas thanks to his versatility.

Expect Quinn to keep going back to the well in the next waves of free agency while the Cowboys continue their way-too-quiet-approach to signing players.
