Daniel Snyder 'Invisible' Three Years After Selling Commanders

Former Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder has apparently become “invisible” after selling the franchise.

Snyder, who owned the Washington NFL franchise for roughly two decades, was once among the league’s most outspoken owners. However, since selling the Commanders to Josh Harris and Co. for $6.05 billion, he hasn’t really been heard from or seen, at least in public fashion.

NFL insider Mark Maske notes that he’s become “invisible” in a way.

“The NFL has moved on entirely from Daniel Snyder. And Snyder increasingly appears to have distanced himself from the league and most of those associated with it, after once fending off any public suggestion that he should part with the team he’d adored since childhood,” he reported.

“Three years after his tumultuous tenure as Commanders owner ended unceremoniously with his sale of the franchise, some former associates and others within the league tell Front Office Sports they’ve had little to no recent contact with him. The change has been gradual since the 2023 sale of the team but it has been striking to them, they say.”

What is Daniel Snyder up to now?

If Snyder were to get back into sports ownership, it would likely be in soccer, preferably in the Premier League.

“I heard he was interested as a potential investor soon after he sold the Commanders,” a former Snyder associate said, per FOS. “But I haven’t heard anything recently…. He’d still prefer to own the [Commanders].”

A second former Snyder associate told FOS: “The only thing he’d buy back into would be European soccer.”

It’ll be interesting to see if he pops up for air at some point, but right now, he seems to be off the grid.
