Davante Adams has had an interesting last few seasons, to say the least. After being drafted out of Fresno State and making a name for himself in Green Bay, he floated around Las Vegas and New York before finally landing in Los Angeles, where he will play for the Rams next season. Adams is 32 years old, which may be causing some fantasy experts to rank him lower than he usually is. This 32-year-old might play next season the way he did at 22, though, and it’s all due to his situation.

Davante Adams 2024 Stats and Fantasy Production

The stats from last year for Adams need to be taken with a huge grain of salt, seeing as he split his time between two teams. He only had one game as a Raider where he had more than 100 yards. Towards the end of the season, as the Jets were figuring things out, though, Adams started to perform better.

He certainly showed he still has a high ceiling, as he was just under 200 yards against Jacksonville in Week 15 of last year. There is a lot of inconsistency on his stat sheet, though. Adams had stretches where he would have a phenomenal game, only to follow it up with a relatively weak game afterwards. There is some debate as to whether his slumps should be attributed to himself or the uncertainty surrounding the Jets offense as a whole, though.

It’s quite possible that Davante Adams could be a steal for many teams going into this year’s fantasy football drafts. This is because he is in a much better situation than he was in either Las Vegas or New York. Adams gets a big upgrade at quarterback with Matthew Stafford, and he doesn’t need to be the number one option since he is playing with Puka Nacua.

Although Nacua might get the bulk of the targets, this Rams offense definitely likes to spread the ball out, so Adams’ numbers shouldn’t be in a bad place just because of Nacua being their WR1.

So why is he the steal of the draft? Well, just look at his ADP. Right now, Davante Adams is being drafted as 36 overall, which is all the way in the fifth round in an eight-person league. That means that Adams is being drafted as a WR2 or even WR3, potentially.

Adams is capable of finishing as one of the top 15 wide receivers in the league, so any player that can get top 15 WR value in the fourth or fifth round is eating well. In general, drafters should be targeting Adams as their WR2, but if they have a late pick, they might be surprised at how far Adams will fall down the draft board.
