The New York Jets have a big decision to make on wide receiver Davante Adams this offseason.
They traded for him during the 2024 season to try and give the rest of the team a spark but it didn't work out. The Jets finished the season with a 5-12 record and have missed the playoffs in each of the last 14 seasons.
Adams has a $38.3 million cap hit for the 2025 season and it's unlikely that the Jets will keep him at that price.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Adams is "intrigued" by playing on the West Coast and is open to playing for the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers.
"A source told me Adams is intrigued by a return to the West Coast and would be open to potentially joining teams such as the Rams or Chargers -- if he gets released. I would put the 49ers in the conversation, too. Adams grew up in Northern California," Fowler wrote, via ESPN.
Adams would be a welcome addition to all three of those teams. The Rams will need a new wide receiver if they go through with trading Cooper Kupp after the new league year starts in March.
The Chargers could also use another receiver to pair well with Ladd McConkey, ditto for the 49ers with Brandon Aiyuk returning from injury and Deebo Samuel.
Even though Adams is 32, he had a solid season in 2024, finishing with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns. 854 of those yards and seven of those touchdowns came as a member of the Jets.
He has compiled six 1,000-yard seasons throughout his career, including five in a row.
Time will tell if the Jets grant Adams his release before the start of the new league year in March.
