Needless to say, bad blood exists between the Las Vegas Raiders and former wide receiver Davante Adams.
Acquired by the Raiders for a first and second round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and immediately locked up with a five-year, $140 million deal, Adams was presented to fans as the top wide receiver the team needed to succeed. He put together a first-team All-Pro campaign in 2022, but the relationship between player and team unraveled quickly after the release of Adams’s former teammate Derek Carr in 2023. It lead to Adams publicly requesting a trade, which he was granted when he was picked up by the New York Jets in October for a third-round pick.
Since the trade, Adams has buried the Raiders at every opportunity, and his move back west did little to change his tune.
Now with the Los Angeles Rams after being released by the Jets this offseason, Adams took the time during mandatory minicamp to take another thinly-veiled jab at his former team.
“Everybody’s in a good mood (in Los Angeles). It’s not like a dark cloud over the building. And I’ve experienced that quite a bit over the last few years,” Adams said. “So, it’s a glaring difference when you come into a building like this.”
Davante Adams said he feels “rejuvenated” this offseason in LA.

The continued beef is unnecessary from Adams’s side, as the coaches and front office staff during his tenure with the Raiders are mostly gone now.
The Raiders do not seem to be bothered by Adams, as they have pushed to implement a new culture with head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek. Moving on from Adams last season also opened the door for Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers to expand their roles and take over the offense. Geno Smith should improve the team’s quarterback situation in March, and the Raiders also picked up three wide receivers in April’s draft.
It is clear that the Raiders have moved on from Adams; he would be wise to do the same.
