Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams joined the franchise in March, and he's already noticed a difference from his previous two NFL homes with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets.
"It's not like a dark cloud over the building," Adams said following Tuesday's offseason workout ahead of next week's mandatory minicamp, via NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
"And I've experienced that quite a bit over the last few years," he added.
In 2022, the Packers traded Adams to the Raiders, where he started 37 games over three seasons before being traded in October 2024 to the Jets.
After six playoff appearances in Green Bay, Adams didn't experience nearly as much regular-season success in Las Vegas or New York, with his teams going 18-30 overall.
The Raiders and Jets might have struggled, but Adams didn't. He averaged 96 receptions, 1,241 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns per season in his last two stops.
The outlook is much brighter in Los Angeles.
The Rams have made the playoffs six times in the past eight seasons, including two years in a row. Los Angeles went 10-7 last season and won the NFC West, going 9-3 after a 1-4 start.
The Rams nearly toppled the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC divisional round, losing 28-22. They had a chance to take the lead with under two minutes remaining, marching as far as the Eagles 13-yard line before a sack and incomplete pass ended their season.
Partnered with quarterback Matthew Stafford and playing alongside outstanding wideout Puka Nacua, entering his third NFL season, the Rams passing attack has the requisite talent to be among the league's most potent.
Adams could make a major difference in the red zone, where Los Angeles ranked 25th in touchdown rate (52.4 percent) a season ago. The six-time Pro Bowl receiver routinely ranks near the top of the league in red zone targets, including tied for fifth in 2024 (24).
Per Stathead, over the past five seasons, Adams leads the NFL in red-zone targets (134), receptions (80) and touchdowns (40). Since entering the league in 2014, 75 of Adams' 103 career touchdowns have come inside the opponents' 20-yard line.
"It's been exactly what I needed," Adams said about joining the Rams, adding that he's "feeling rejuvenated."
"It feels like I've been on this team for a couple years now, just based off of how open and receptive the guys have been to me," he added.
Every team is optimistic at this time of year, but the Rams' sunny disposition is warranted. Adams could be exactly what they need to once again rule the NFC.
