The 2025 college football season has generated a lot of hype around some of the top programs in the country.

In 2025, all teams will be competing to dethrone the Ohio State Buckeyes from the top spot. Among the teams gaining significant recognition as potential challengers are the Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers, to name a few.

On the show "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack," the former "College GameDay" analyst expressed that he has a more critical view of LSU compared to other national analysts. He identifies significant challenges for LSU, particularly early in the season, which leads him to believe that they will not qualify for the College Football Playoff in 2025.

"I think early in the season, while all of this is coming together, are they out of it before they blink?" Pollack said. "Are they out of it before they gel? I see this team down the stretch as a team that you don't want to fool with. You don't want to mess with, once they gel. Once they've got experience. But coming out of the gate, how good is LSU? To me, that's why they're not going to make the playoffs. To me, they're a 9-3 team."

Pollack believes LSU's replacement of four offensive line starters will lead to inconsistencies early in the season, which may cost the Tigers.

LSU will begin the season on the road against the Clemson Tigers. In the first six weeks, they will also face the Florida Gators, Ole Miss Rebels and South Carolina Gamecocks.

Pollack believes that the team should be improving and becoming a difficult opponent to defeat in the second half of the season. However, the schedule won't get any easier. In the final six games, the Tigers will compete against the Texas A&M Aggies at home, and then they will face the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oklahoma Sooners on the road.

LSU is set to face Clemson on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. The team aims to break its streak of losing opening games, as they haven’t won an opener since 2019. That year, Joe Burrow and the team defeated Georgia Southern and went on to win the national championship.
