Dawson Knox praises Josh Allen after playoff loss

Josh Allen has faced a new wave of criticism this week after the Buffalo Bills came up short in the postseason once again, but TE Dawson Knox certainly is not placing blame on his quarterback.

Following the Bills’ 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo on Sunday night, Knox had incredibly high praise for Allen. The tight end said there is no quarterback he would rather play with and that every Bills player feels that way.

“I pray that I get to spend the rest of my career playing with him. There’s not a single person on this team that wouldn’t say the same,” Knox said. “Every game he’s got blood, cuts and bruises literally putting his body on the line every single play for all of us. He really is a warrior. A modern day gladiator.”

The Bills have now lost in the divisional round in three consecutive seasons. They have also been eliminated by the Chiefs in the playoffs three of the last four years.

Allen has been far too turnover-prone at times, but there is little question that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He scored three total touchdowns against the Chiefs and did not turn the ball over. Had it not been for some crucial mistakes, the Bills probably would have finally gotten over the hump.

The pressure to win in the postseason will only become more intense for Allen next season and beyond. Knox is confident the Pro Bowl quarterback can handle it.
