DeAndre Hopkins admits Titans have ‘one of the best receiving groups’ he has ever played with
Denny Simmons / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Tennessee Titans are heading into the 2024-25 season as the second-best team behind the Houston Texans to win the AFC South. The team has had a fruitful off-season bringing aboard Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, and Tony Pollard. The hype surrounding them is real.

This year, DeAndre Hopkins seems to be more relaxed than usual. The wide receiver has never had this much talent around him in his career and is just grateful that he no longer has to be the No. 1 option always. The wideout, who is headed into his 12th season, has been shut out on previous occasions after defenses found ways to double him and lock him down.

This year, however, defenses will need to play it smart because there is more than one-star wideout on the field.

I think this is one of the best wide receiver groups I've had the chance to play with on paper. Obviously, I could come up here and say a bunch, but we haven't played a game yet. So we'll see how it goes once we hit the field. (We're) just taking it day by day. Tyler Boyd has been in this program for a while. A lot of us are still learning how things go. Just coming out practicing. DeAndre Hopkins revealed to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com

Hopkins understands the difference between having a talented roster on paper and having one that performs. Considering the skillsets of Ridley, Hopkins, and Boyd, it is unlikely that they will have any issues on the field.

The Tennessee Titans will continue to rely on Hopkins as their No. 1 receiver

Despite the additions of other wideouts, DHop considers himself the WR1 of the team. That is not surprising since he is one of the most competitive players in the NFL.

I'm always competing. Any time we get anyone who is a No. 1 receiver, my mindset is to go out and outcompete them, outdo them. I've always had that mindset. DeAndre Hopkins said

As the oldest receiver on that group, can he continue to show that he is the most dominant player on this roster?

Hopkins recorded 75 receptions for yet another 1,000-yard season and seven touchdowns. Calvin Ridley signed a four-year deal worth $92 million with $46.9 million guaranteed. The Titans have a new head coach in Brian Callahan and Will Levis will get the opportunity to play his first season as the starting QB. An opportunity he has been anticipating for the longest period.

The Titans will have a lot to go up against this season as the undisputed best team in the AFC South is the Houston Texans. The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts on the other hand are teams that can be beaten by the Titans. Will the franchise be good enough to beat the Texans is the biggest question.
