Travis Hunter’s wedding was a joyous occasion over the weekend, but the notable absence of the Sanders family has everyone wondering why.
Deion Sanders did not attend and appeared to be on a business trip. However, given the close bond between Hunter and the entire Sanders household, it raised eyebrows across the sports world.
Deion Sanders Jr. addressed the situation with respect before the wedding on Saturday night. In a brief but sincere message during his latest Well Off Media video, he congratulated Hunter and clarified that there were no hard feelings or falling outs behind the scenes. “But Congratulations also to Travis for getting married,” Sanders Jr. said. “He knows why we couldn’t be there.”
Hunter and Sanders Jr. became especially close during their time in Boulder. Bucky was the one who gave the Heisman winner the nickname 'Saucy-T' and captured some of his best moments.
As Hunter embarks on a new chapter of his life, he has a lot to be thankful for. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, becoming the highest drafted cornerback and second-highest drafted wide receiver in NFL history. Now, married life with his wife, Leanna De La Fuente will be another adventure as they move to Duval County.
Even though the Sanders family wasn’t physically present at the wedding, their love and encouragement for Hunter endures. Like the rest of the football community, they'll be watching his next step in anticipation of what's to come.
