DeMarvion Overshown immediately sends message to Cowboys Nation following 'serious' injury

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in painful fashion on Monday Night Football, as a blocked punt from Cowboys linebacker Nick Vigil was rendered irrelevant when teammate Amani Oruwariye made contact with the ball and failed to secure it, allowing the Bengals to recover the ball in crunch time.

But as painful as the loss was, DeMarvion Overshown's knee injury might prove much more costly, as it might impact the rising star in the long run. After all, head coach Mike McCarthy described the injury as one of a "serious nature" in his postgame press conference.

"It didn't look good," McCarthy added.

Overshown took it upon himself to send a message to Cowboys Nation shortly after the game through social media.

"Wouldn't want this for anyone else!," Overshown posted on X. "One of God's toughest soldiers. Keep me in your prayers."

The message, simple but yet another display of Overshown's character, certainly implies the Cowboys linebacker is dealing with something serious. Further updates are expected later in the week once he undergoes additional testing.

Overshown knows a thing or two about going through knee-related adversity. The former Texas Longhorn suffered a season-ending injury in 2023 during the preseason as a torn ACL forced him to miss his NFL rookie year entirely.

Throughout last season and this offseason, he was consistently praised for his work ethic in rehab, which yielded big results this year, as he has been a bright spot for the Cowboys defense all year long. Overshown appears to be well on his way to a very successful career.

However, Overshown appears to be headed back to the sidelines for now. Hopefully, he's able to return strong and picks up right where he left off.
