Denver Broncos Get Devastating News On Starting Wide Receiver
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos were very excited to have wide receiver Tim Patrick back. After he tore his ACL in training camp last year, Patrick was set to make a comeback. It looks like that comeback may not happen. The team fears that the star wide receiver tore his Achilles in a 7-on7 drill today.

Denver Broncos Tim Patrick Injured Again

Patrick was running a drill and pushed off to run a route. His left leg buckled and he immediately screamed out in pain. He was then helped onto the cart as a crowd of 3,000 people watched in dead silence. Head coach Sean Payton told reporters that he thinks it is an Achilles injury. If true, Patrick will most likely be out for the entire season again. This is devastating news for Patrick. Regardless if you are a Broncos fan or not, you have to feel for the player.

Broncos Will Need Others To Step Up

Jerry Jeudy and Cortland Sutton are now the clear leaders in the receiver room. Rookie Marvin Mims Jr. is another name to watch as he will likely see more snaps. There are a slew of others that could try and fill the void that Patrick leaves. The Broncos could also look to the free-agent market after all roster cuts are made and see if there is any value there. Most likely, they will try and fill the void with someone already on the roster.

You have to feel for Tim Patrick. I can’t imagine what he is going through. The Denver Broncos have to find a way to move forward. They somewhat managed last year without him and will likely have to do it again in 2023.
