Derek Carr to recruit Pro Bowl WR Davante Adams to Raiders?

Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams has dropped multiple hints this summer that he could leave the Green Bay Packers via free agency once his contract expires after the upcoming season if quarterback and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers is not with the Packers come next March.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Las Vegas Raiders starting signal-caller Derek Carr was Adams' teammate at Fresno State and said Sunday he'd welcome the opportunity to play alongside the elite target again.

"I’ve learned in this business you never shut a door on anything," Carr explained about a potential reunion. "I think he’s obviously the best receiver — everybody says one of the best, he’s the best receiver in the NFL. The guy is unbelievable. He’s been one of my best friends since we were in college. I love the guy.

"I would always welcome [playing] with him again. I think it would unlock some things in both of us that people haven’t seen yet. And I’m always open to that and I will be recruiting very hard. So when that time comes, it will be a full-court press."

The irony here is that the Raiders are routinely linked with Rodgers in trade rumors. He and Adams could remain teammates in Vegas, while Carr could ultimately find himself wearing a Packers jersey by this time next summer.
