Detroit Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes shared a special moment with his son before the team’s 2026 season opener.

The pair showed up in matching Spider-Man suits, bringing a fun family moment to the buildup at Ford Field. Barnes and his son appeared to fully embrace the superhero theme ahead of Detroit’s first game of the 2026 season.

NFL shared the moment on social media. The matching Spider-Man outfits of the father-son duo quickly caught the attention of fans as the Lions prepared for their opening matchup.

Barnes has become a familiar presence on Detroit’s defense since the team selected him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He enters the new season looking to continue contributing to a defense with plenty to prove.

Lions begin 2026 season with plenty to prove

The Lions began their 2026 campaign against the New Orleans Saints at Ford Field.

Detroit finished 9-8 last season and missed the playoffs. The Lions entered this season looking to bounce back and return to postseason contention.
