Derrick Henry: Baltimore Ravens Running Back Dynasty Outlook
Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images

Derrick Henry signed a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens entering 2024, and he exceeded all expectations by finishing as a top-five fantasy running back. The Ravens offense was electric with him and dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson in the backfield. However, Henry will be 31 years old in 2025. Can he keep up his elite success? What is Derrick Henry’s dynasty outlook for the future?

Dynasty Outlook for Derrick Henry

Current Production

Henry was drafted as the RB8 in fantasy drafts entering the 2024 season. He finished as the RB4 in PPR leagues and RB2 in standard leagues. Regardless of what scoring system you played in, he had a terrific year. He had 325 carries, 1,921 rushing yards, and a league-leading 16 rushing touchdowns. Jackson does not rush for touchdowns when they get to the goal line, leading all the opportunities for Henry to finish off the drive. He did not have much receiving production, catching 19 of 22 targets for 193 yards and two touchdowns. The Ravens brought in Justice Hill in pass-catching situations, but Henry had so much production on the ground that it did not hurt his fantasy value.

Henry Dynasty Price

According to KeepTradeCut, Henry is currently the RB18 in dynasty leagues. He is behind Chase Brown, Christian McCaffrey, and the rookie Quinshon Judkins. He is ahead of Chuba Hubbard, the rookie Kaleb Johnson, and David Montgomery. This is a very interesting tier with both aging players and rookies who have not been drafted yet. He is worth a late first-round pick in a 2025 rookie draft.

Derrick Henry Dynasty Outlook

Henry has one year left on his contract with the Ravens. He will enter free agency after the 2025 season as a 32-year-old running back. Henry should have fallen off years ago, but he continues to perform at an elite level. However, eventually, Henry will finally start to decline. He can be great again in 2025, but after that, it will be hard to trust him much more. The Ravens are one of the best offenses in the league, and there will be many scoring opportunities for Henry once more in 2025.

The Ravens have multiple backup running backs, including Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell, who are both under contract in 2025. Expect them to take the pass-catching work away from Henry, but Henry will get all the goal-line work and a large share of the carries. Henry will be a top-ten running back in 2025 with a good chance of being top-five.

What to Do With Henry in Dynasty Leagues

Henry is the definition of a going all-in player. If you are trying to go all in and win in 2025, trade for one of the best running backs in the league with the expectation of having just one more great year out of him. On the other hand, if you are rebuilding, it is time to trade Henry away and load up on the younger running backs in the deep running back class in the 2025 NFL Draft. Henry will be a popular player on trade blocks during the season, so it could be valuable to wait to trade Henry away when the bidding war is higher.
