Derrick Henry Inks Extension with Baltimore After Explosive 2024 Season

Former Alabama Crimson Tide superstar running back Derrick Henry has been one of the NFL's best and most ferocious runners of the football since entering the league.

Beginning his career with the Tennessee Titans, he won the AP's Offensive Player of the Year award in the 2019-20 season with 2,027 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns, both leading the league.

This past season he signed with the Ravens after what some considered to be an off year for Henry with just 1,167 yards in his final year with Tennessee.

He exploded for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2024, and the Ravens have announced they are signing him to a two-year $30 million contract extension.

$25 million of his contract is guaranteed, and worth every penny as the backfield of him and former MVP Lamar Jackson is one of the most dangerous in the NFL.

He is heading into the last year of his initial two-year deal with Baltimore with a cap hit of around $12.9 million.

Henry has been one of the most consistent and durable backs in the league, and after playing in every game last season, looks poised and in the best shape of his life to do it again this year.

If he cracks the 1,317 rushing yards mark in 2025, he will end up in the top-10 all time for career rushing yards, passing Tony Dorsett who currently sits at 10. Henry is currently No. 19 all-time with 11,423 yards.

The Baltimore Ravens in awe with his work in year one now have at least three more years with Henry under contract, and at 31 years old, is still running like he did in college.

Baltimore, coming off a devastating loss late in the game to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC divisional round last year, will look to improve their standing, and get over the hump of the Bills and Chiefs in the AFC to make their first Super Bowl since the infamous 'Blackout Bowl' in New Orleans.
