Derrick Henry Sends Clear Message After Major Ravens Announcement

The Baltimore Ravens had one of the best rushing attacks last season, ranking first in rushing yards per game (187.6), first in yards per rush (5.8) and sixth in rushing touchdowns (21).

Of course, much of that success can be attributed to running back Derrick Henry, who just finished his first season with the Ravens after spending the first eight years of his career with the Tennessee Titans.

His future with Baltimore was in question, though, because 2025 was set to be the final year under his two-year, $16 million contract, but that's all changed with the team announcing the two have agreed to an extension through 2027.

Quickly after the news broke, Henry went to social media saying, "Flockkkkkk God is good !! @Ravens I’m appreciative & grateful for everyone apart of this great organization & a BIG S/O to all my teammates to be able to make this possible . Thank you Flock Nation for always supporting . Working as hard I can to be able to contribute to us holding up that trophy when it’s all said & done . Love, 22."

Of course, last season Henry was amazing, being named Second-Team All-Pro and accumulating 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, while also having 19 receptions, 193 yards and two touchdowns.

Though this deal can be seen as a bit of a risk for the Ravens, with ESPN's Adam Schefter also reporting that this two-year, $30 million deal is the largest for a running back who's at least 30 years old in NFL history.

However, despite his age starting to rise, as he will be 31 by the start of the 2025 season, the expectations remain high as ESPN BET ties him for the fifth-best odds (+1800) to win Offensive Player of the Year.
