Derrick Henry’s new motivation for 2025 is downright ridiculous (and awesome)

The Baltimore Ravens struck gold by signing Derrick Henry last offseason and hope that the success he had in Year 1 with the team continues in Year 2 and beyond. It turns out that Henry has extra motivation for the 2025 season and the reason is probably one of the weirdest ones you'll hear.

While appearing on The Dan Patrick Show, Henry and Patrick got to talking about Adam Sandler, who Patrick is close friends with (and has appeared in a bunch of his movies). Henry shared that he's a huge fan of Sandler and would love to meet him and that's where the conversation went from great to legendary.

"You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna text [Sandler] today and ask if he'll send a video and then I'm gonna send it to the Ravens," Patrick said. "And, you get to 2,000 yards, I'll get you in a Sandler movie."

Derrick Henry has one hilarious reason to go off in 2025

This is the fun side of sports, when silly things like these take place. How can anyone not be rooting for this to happen now that a cameo in a future Sandler movie is on the line? Truly the best kind of motivation for anyone, but especially for a big Sandler fan like Henry.

Ravens fans, of course, are loving this because it gives Henry extra motivation. It's not even like it'd be the first time the running back has rushed for 2,000 yards in a season either, doing so in 2020 when he was a member of the Tennessee Titans. He came close this past year with 1,921 yards but technically, if this deal had been made this time last year, he wouldn't have won the bet.

in the slow months of the offseason, it's nice to have content like this to talk about. It's harmless fun and, if Henry does indeed rush for 2,000 yards in 2025, the Ravens not only benefit but then everyone can enjoy watching his appearance in a future Sandler flick. Win-win for everyone.
