Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry is one of the most lethal running backs in the NFL today, which shouldn't be a surprise given how dominant he has been since his high school years.
Before making it to the NFL, Henry starred for Yulee High School as a running back. He was heavily recruited by several college programs as a five-star recruit before choosing to go to Alabama under then-head coach Nick Saban.
On Monday, the Ravens RB's historic career was put in the spotlight after Sports Center Next made a post about his high school stats. More than his numbers, however, his massive build was what had fans buzzing.
On Instagram, Sports Center Next shared some edited photos of Henry during his high school days while highlighting his incredible stats per year. The post also included an old clip of a young Henry overcoming a defense with his strength, speed and maneuverability.
Naturally, fans couldn't help but notice how imposing he looked even back then. Several social media users commented on his build, especially compared to the smaller teens around him at the time.
"This dude been 6’3 240lbs since he was in 5th grade," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "He was NFL size in high school. That’s crazy."
"Why his high school reel look like him in the NFL. Man I feel sorry for them lil kids that tried to tackle him," a fan added.
"Foo looked like a NFL player already," a supporter remarked.
"He was twice the seize of every players on the field not fair!" a poster noted,
A sixth follower shared, "Dude was already full-grown."
His size aside, though, it's hard not to be impressed by what Henry did back in his younger years.
As the Sports Center Next post shared, Henry recorded a total of 12,124 yards and 153 yards throughout four years in high school. The most impressive season for him was his senior year, when he had 4,261 yards and 55 TDs.
Henry, now 31 and over a decade removed from high school, hasn't slowed down one bit. In 2024, he rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Ravens. He also tallied 193 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
In his NFL career, Henry has recorded 13,074 yards from scrimmage and 111 total touchdowns.
